It is the tenth year of these prestigious awards that recognise businesses large and small who succeed in seizing opportunities offered by digital technology and the internet. We are absolutely delighted that CU Soar has been announced as a finalist for the category Best Mobile App.

Soar was recently invited to the University of Glasgow Business Case Competition and asked to provide the case for a group of talented students to compete in an all-day challenge.

We are delighted that our Founder and Executive Chairman, Andrew Duncan, has been nominated to be included in the Social Entrepreneur Index.

Back in December, we decided that since 2019 was going to be a big year for Soar, that we would change our look to reflect our exciting evolution. We are continuing to develop our product and we want to develop alongside it, so we made a plan to make this happen. With the help of the award-winning creative brand agency, Made Brave, we embarked on a rebranding journey.

On Saturday 9th April 2019, our CEO joined a panel at ABCUL's Annual AGM & Conference in Manchester. The plenary session, hosted by Liz Barclay, was all about fintech for credit unions.

Sometimes, we need to move out of our comfort zone to achieve the best results. Many in the credit union industry are looking to become more digitally aware and innovate with technology. This is promising for the sector, but all credit unions need to take notice and think about collectively evolving the movement.

As Mental Health Awareness Week draws to a close in the UK, we have taken some time out to reflect on what we do at Soar to support our staff’s mental wellbeing.

The continuous development of our product is key for us to help the ethical banking sector and the £450,000 granted to us will go a long way in funding our product development. Our announcement was made even better with a visit from Minister for Public Finance and Digital Economy Kate Forbes MSP.

Just weeks after our CEO pitched in the Edge14 Grand Finals, we were invited to attend the awards dinner to find out if we’d won a share of the Scottish Edge Fund.

Soar has been hosting wellbeing days and activities for our team for a while but over the next few months we will be doing loads more to encourage good wellbeing practices and we will be supporting these 5 ways to wellbeing.
